I believe effective communication across difference and difficulty is the heart of constructing more humane and equitable working and learning spaces.

As an educator, consultant, and speaker I provide critical insights into what real commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice can look like

Training and Consulting

I work with organizations to co-construct content that responds to their specific needs and contexts

Evaluation of your organizational climate and culture can provide critical data to create long-term strategic plans for equity and inclusion

Small Group Discussion

Often working with solidarity groups in your organization is the best way to open up conscious conversations about driving change

DEI Strategic Planning

Small everyday changes in climate are important, but they must exist in connection to longer term goals of embedding equity and inclusion in every part of your structure

From introductory topics like incorporating inclusive language into your messaging to complex concepts like how to become an anti-racist organization we can build the right content for your team

About me

I am an Associate Professor at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media and the Faculty Fellow for Inclusive Excellence at the University of Central Florida. I have a Ph.D. in Communication and Culture from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine School of Law. My work centers on the communication of marginalized identity in various contexts and my research focuses on the communicative elements involved at the intersection of identity, the body, and health. I collaborate with a wide range of organizations enhancing their capacity to communicate across difference and difficulty. Additionally, my scholarship examines policy language, the rhetoric of choice and Assistive Reproductive Technology, as well as looks at sexual and reproductive health access for the minoritized communities. I am also a proud board member of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida.
